Shocking!

I don't khow whether you heard about this
but Denzel Washington and his family visited
the troops at Brook Army Medical Center,
in San Antonio, Texas (BAMC) the other day.

This is where soldiers who have been
evacuated from Germany come to be
hospitalized in the United States,
especially burn victims. There are some
buildings there called Fisher Houses.

The Fisher House is a Hotel where soldier's
families can stay, for little or no charge,
while their soldier is staying on base,
but as you can imagine, they are almost
filled most of the time.

While Denzel Washington was visiting BAMC,
they gave him a tour of one of the Fisher
Houses. He asked how much one of them
would cost to build.

He took his cheque book out and wrote a
cheque for the full amount right there
onthe spot. The soldiers overseas were
amazed to hear this story and want to
get the word out to the American public,
because it warmed their hearts to hear it.

The question is - why do?

Britney Spears Madonna, Tom Cruise and
other Hollywood fluff make front page
news with their ridiculous make front
page news with their ridiculous antics
and Denzel Washington's charity doesn't
even make page 3 in the Metro section
of any newspaper except the local
newspaper in San Antonio.

This needs wide distribution...

90 yrs. Old, Cleveland, Ohio

Written By Regina Brett, 90 years old, of The Plain Dealer, Cleveland , Ohio

"To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me.. It is the most-requested column I've ever written.

My odometer rolled over to 90 in August, so here is the column once more:

1. Life isn't fair,but it's still good.

2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.

3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone...

4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and parents will. Stay in touch

5. Pay off your credit cards every month.

6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.

8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.

9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.

10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.

11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.

12. It's OK to let your children see you cry.

13. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it.

15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry; God never blinks.

16. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.

17. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.

18. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.

19.. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is up to you and no one else.

20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.

21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special.

22. Over prepare, then go with the flow.

23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.

24. The most important sex organ is the brain.

25. No one is in charge of your happiness but you.

26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words'In five years, will this matter?'

27. Always choose life.

28. Forgive everyone everything.

29. What other people think of you is none of your business.

30. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.

31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

32. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

33. Believe in miracles.

34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn't do.

35. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.

36. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young.

37. Your children get only one childhood.

38. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.

39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.

40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's,we'd grab ours back.

Out Of The Mouth Of Babes

Hello Stacey here, stwhitney

I thought this to be so cute that I would pass it on.

A 1st grade school teacher had twenty-six students in her class.
She presented each child in her classroom the 1st half of a
well-known proverb and asked them to come up with the
remainder of the proverb. It's hard to believe these were
actually done by first graders. Their insight may surprise you.

While reading, keep in mind that these are first-graders,
6-year-olds, because the last one is a classic!

My Passion For Quotes!

Hello all, Stacey again, stwhitney
(Allowedtoroam)

I have written enough about me for a while. This is a side of me that I just recently discovered, I have aquired a "Passion for Quotes" so I thought I would pass some along.

This is one of my favorites:
Come to the edge, she said
I said I can't, I might fall
Come to the edge, she said
I said I can't, I am afraid
Come to the edge, she said
I came, she pushed me, and I flew!

Since I have started online marketing, being the avid reader that I am, I have started to read everything I can find for self development. From the book I am now reading by "Debbie Allen" I have found some of the greatest "Quotes" for both the Newbie and the Entreprenures. The book is titled "CONFESSIONS of SHAMELESS SELF-PROMOTERS".

The Entrepreneurs are already there and we Newbies, will if we put our hearts in it, will one day be in their League! I think we sometimes forget that they were "Newbies before they became Entrepreneurs".

I would like to share some Quotes with you...

1. If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun.-Katherine Hepburn.

2. Never underestimate the power of words.
A few select words could motivate others to take positive action to change
their lives forever.-Debbie Allen

3. Fear defeats more people than any other one thing in the world.-Ralph
Waldo Emerson.

4. I did it the same way I learned to speak-doggedly making a fool of myself until
I got use to it- George Bernard Shaw.

5. You can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people
than you can in two years by trying to get other people interested in you.-
Dale Carnegie.

6. The higher up you go, the more mistakes you're allowed.
When at the top, if you make enough of them, it's considered to be your style.-
Fred Astaire.

7. You are one of a kind, therefore,no one can really predict to what heights you
may soar.
Even you, will not know until you spread your wings.-Gil Atkinson.

8. I look upon every day to be lost, in which I do not make an acquainance.-
Samuel Johnson.

9. If you truly expect to realise your dreams,
abandon the need for blanket approval.
If conforming to everyone else's expectations is the number one goal,
you have sacrificed your uniqueness and, therefore, your excellence.-Dan Ward.

10."Networking is an attitude.
You must always keep in mind those people
to whom you can refer others.
In order to receive the benefits of networking
you must first "give".-Deb Haggerty

These are just a few of the Quotes that I found to be most interesting and gives one food for thought. Hope they give you a heads up for the greater days to come...

My Ventures Adventures

Hello Stacey Here, stwhitney
(Allowedtoroam)

When I left Newfoundland at the age of 17yrs and moved to Labrador City, it was there I took my first big vacation. Four of us drove from Labrador to Acapulo, it was a long trip but the end result was more than worth it.

We stopped in Oklahoma to visit a friend for a day. We were invited to talk with a grade 12 class about Newfoundland and Labrador. It was very interesting to say the least. Not knowing anything about our home they thought we were living in Igloos and couldn't believe that we lived the same as they did.

They also couldn't believe the fact that we were driving from Labrador to Mexico. What we couldn't believe was that they felt they would never get to see Acapulco! To us they were living next door.

Then we were off to Acapulco where we had the greatest time of our life at that time. We did a lot of site seeing and shopping at their flea markets was a blast. Of course the high-light of the trip was the Deep Sea fishing, Water Skiing, Laying Around on the Beaches and the thrill of the Bull Fight.

Since then I have taken two more vacations to Acapulco and enjoyed it equally as much. Maybe one day I will go back again if just to visit the friends we made there. Until next time.

Kindest regards,
Stacey, stwhitney
